February 8, Minsk. The Belarusian Railways urges citizens to observe safety measures at railway transport facilities, BelTA learned from the press center of the Belarusian Railways.
In January 2022, 8 cases of non-occupational injuries occurred on the Belarusian Railway. "This is one case less than in the same period last year. 8 people were injured, including 6 of them fatally injured," the press center noted.
The main causes of accidents are still the neglect of basic safety measures. In particular, being in a high-risk zone while intoxicated , crossing a railway in an unspecified place, moving along railway tracks, as well as talking on a mobile phone and wearing headphones when crossing tracks.
The Belarusian Railway pays great attention to ensuring safety at railway transport facilities. To prevent injuries to minors and prevent transport offenses, the Belarusian Railways regularly conducts thematic actions and raids on railway transport facilities, and annually implements a set of organizational and technical measures.
The Belarusian Railways urges citizens to be more careful at railway transport facilities and recalls the administrative responsibility for violating the rules for crossing railways or being on them in the wrong place.
