Agricultural organizations of Transbaikalia, along with the sowing of spring crops, have begun work on preparing clean fallows for the harvest of 2023, said Denis Bochkarev, HEAD of the regional agrarian department.
“The farms of the Borzinsky and Kalgansky districts began preparing fallows for next year's harvest. To date, farmers have raised 40 hectares of early fallow. In total, this year the agricultural producers of the region plan to raise 42.5 thousand hectares,” the minister said.
The largest volume of work on the preparation of clean fallows is expected to be carried out by the farms of the Priargunsky district - on an area of 14 thousand hectares. The task of commissioning 5 thousand hectares was set by the agricultural enterprises of the Krasnokamensky district. it is planned to raise at least 4 thousand hectares of fallow in the Nerchinsk district.
Qualitatively prepared steam, even in the absence of precipitation in the spring, has good reserves of productive moisture in the arable layer at a depth of 4-6 centimeters. Therefore, soil preparation in dry conditions plays a key role in obtaining a high yield. Accordingly, poorly prepared fallow leads to a sharp decrease in yield and, in general, instability of the grain economy.
