In the Voronezh region, it is planned to involve up to a tenth of the total agricultural area under organic production

At the end of 2021, the Voronezh Region has taken a leading position in the production of organic products among the regions of the Russian Federation, which is a major achievement in the development of a new promising area. Of course, such success is dictated by both the policy pursued and the ideology of the agrarians.
For the successful development of organic production, the Department of Agrarian Policy developed a decree of the regional government. In many ways, the achievements of Voronezh organics have been achieved thanks to the measures of state support: the region has become a pioneer in the introduction of a system of subsidizing agricultural producers. In the region, subsidies for certification are paid in 100% of the volume, and 50% of the costs for the purchase of authorized drugs are reimbursed.
This direction is under the personal control of the governor Alexander Gusev. The first steps in organic farming were made back in 2018, when farms and enterprises began to move into the conversion period, and today these producers have already received their organic certificates.
Moreover, the valuable experience of our region is adopted by other subjects of the country.
Today, a very topical issue for the region is the processing of organic products. So, in the Buturlinovsky district, the production of flour, snacks, chips, pumpkin cubes has already been launched. Local producers have ideas for making jams, dryers, canned vegetables, drinks, semi-finished products, meat products.
At present, Voronezh organists produce vegetables (including greenhouse ones), fruits, berries, forage grasses, buckwheat, lamb, goat's milk and products of its processing, and bread. Last year, our agricultural producers were already included in the Unified Register of Organic Producers, which is a reliable guarantee of its authenticity.
At present, the total area of ​​agricultural land occupied by organic production is 10 thousand hectares, but the future plans are to allocate 1/10 of the arable land of the region or 300 thousand hectares of land for organic production.
