
At the operational meeting under the Governor, the deputy HEAD of the region, Mikhail Glazkov, reported on the information on the sowing work in the Vologda region.
Recall that for the sowing campaign in 2023, the Governor of the region set the task for agricultural producers to carry out spring sowing on farms of all categories in optimal agrotechnical terms on an area of 136 thousand hectares.
The sowing campaign in the region began two weeks earlier than the average long-term indicators of soil readiness for mechanized work in the fields. The first hectares in the Vologda District were sown on April 12-14.
The main resource - seeds - the farms of the region were provided by 107%, including 90% were seeds harvested during the harvest. To improve the varietal and sowing qualities of seeds, the farms imported almost 3 thousand tons of seeds of high reproduction grain crops. Almost 604 tons of seeds of perennial grasses have been purchased. it is planned to apply about 37 thousand tons of fertilizers for the current year's harvest.
About 300 agricultural organizations and peasant farms, as well as almost 150,000 families with personal subsidiary plots, are participating in spring field work. About 4 thousand units of equipment are involved in the sowing campaign.
Now the sowing campaign has passed the equator: more than 60% of the planned plan has been sown. The largest amount of sowing was carried out in the Vologda district - 26.5 thousand hectares, Gryazovets - 13 thousand hectares, Sheksninsky district - 8.5 thousand hectares.
In total, spring sowing of agricultural crops in agricultural organizations and peasant farms was carried out on an area 27% more than was sown on the same date last year. More than 63.5 thousand ha were sown with spring grain crops, including 8.4 thousand ha of spring wheat, 45.6 thousand ha of barley, 8.1 thousand ha of oats, and 1.4 thousand of leguminous crops. ha.
Sowing of rapeseed was carried out on an area of 1.9 thousand hectares, fiber flax - 1.4 thousand hectares, fodder crops - 9.7 thousand hectares. Also, as of today, 37 hectares of open ground vegetables have been sown and 150 hectares of early potatoes have been planted.
To update the structure of fodder lands, overseeding of perennial grasses was carried out on an area of 18 thousand hectares.
