In the Novosibirsk region, the “stocking” of reservoirs with fish seeding material of valuable fish species (peled,Carp , grass carp, silver carp, silver carp, pike, and others).
Commercial fish farming in the region is carried out according to seasonal stages. Stocking occurs in the spring (May-June), and harvesting occurs in the fall and winter. More than one hundred lakes and ponds in our region are involved in this process.
Peled is the most widely stocked fish species in the Novosibirsk Region. This fish is not native to our lakes; in the wild, it is found much further north. However, thanks to modern technologies for egg incubation and fish seed production, we are able to provide our Novosibirsk consumers with this valuable whitefish.
"This year, fisheries organizations in the region released 73,104,000 fish seed into reservoirs, which is 339,000 more than in 2023," said Acting Minister of Agriculture Andrei Shindelov. Fish stocking was primarily carried out using fish seed grown in hatcheries and incubation facilities in the Novosibirsk Region, with a small portion imported from the neighboring Kemerovo Region. State support
plays a significant role in increasing the stocking volumes of fisheries in the Novosibirsk Region. Assistance to fisheries organizations is provided by the regional state program "Development of Agriculture and Regulation of Agricultural Products, Raw Materials, and Food Markets in the Novosibirsk Region." In 2024 , for the development of commercial fish farming (aquaculture) and industrial fishing, fisheries organizations are provided with state support in the amount of 23.0 million rubles from the regional budget of the Novosibirsk Region to reimburse 50% of the cost of purchased fish seeding material for stocking water bodies used for commercial fish farming and industrial fishing, 50% of the cost of purchased technical means and equipment for commercial fish farming and industrial fishing, including under financial lease (leasing) conditions, and 50% of the cost of purchased feed, compound feed and feed additives for growing commercial fish.
