Dairy herd productivity and gross milk yield are growing in the Lipetsk region

During the first three months of the current year, the gross milk yield and the productivity of the dairy herd in the agricultural organizations of the region increased by almost 4%.
The dairy industry is one of the leading directions in the development of agriculture in the Lipetsk region. More than 60 agricultural enterprises, peasant farms and production cooperatives are engaged in dairy farming. Every year, significant amounts are allocated from the federal and regional budgets for the construction and modernization of dairy farms, support for milk producers, and the development of breeding farms. Thus, this year over 400 million rubles are provided to support the workover. More than 90% of this amount has already been transferred to the accounts of enterprises. In addition, 5 investment projects for the creation or modernization of dairy livestock breeding complexes are planned for selection by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture in the region. With a positive decision, the amount of subsidies for them will amount to almost 630 million rubles.
Thanks to comprehensive state support, production indicators in the industry are growing. In the first quarter of 2023, in agricultural organizations engaged in milk production, gross milk yield amounted to 61.2 thousand tons, which is 3.8% more than on the same date a year earlier. The number of cattle increased by 3.1%. Milk yield per cow reached 2194 kg. This is 81 kg more than in the three months of last year. Farms of all categories received more than 72 thousand tons in January-March of the current year.
“State support provided in various areas is yielding results,” said Igor Kremnev, Deputy Governor of the Lipetsk Region. - Last year we opened a large dairy complex for almost 2 thousand heads in the Zadonsk region. In the current, it is planned to open a dairy complex in the Lev-Tolstovsky district for one thousand two hundred heads and a complex for growing heifers in the Zadonsky district for 3.5 thousand places. Also, a new complex is being built in the Terbunsky district.”
