
Agrarians of all municipal districts of the republic have started spring sowing, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Belarus - Minister of Agriculture Ilshat Fazrakhmanov noted at an operational meeting of the Government of the region today.
He stressed that by May 10, agricultural producers of the republic had sown half of the areas planned for spring crops, or 1 million 81 thousand hectares. Until the end of this week, the sowing of early spring crops will be completed by the farms of the Cis-Ural steppe and Southern forest-steppe zones. While in the northern regions, sowing work is only gaining momentum.
Farmers fertilized almost 250,000 hectares with winter crops and 92,000 hectares with perennial grasses. Work on closing moisture in the fields is almost completed. Today, farms in 6 districts (Meleuzovsky, Aurgazinsky, Davlekanovsky, Sterlitamaksky, Ufimsky, Kuyurgazinsky) have already begun caring for crops. Chemical weeding of winter crops was carried out on an area of 24 thousand hectares and SUGAR beet (1 treatment) - 226 hectares, crops were treated against pests and diseases of winter crops on an area of 6 thousand hectares.
Ilshat Fazrakhmanov also spoke about the provision of farmers with mineral fertilizers and fuel. For seasonal field work in 2022, about 95 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers in the active substance are required, as of May 10, farms have accumulated 86% of the plan - 81.5 thousand tons in a.i. Small-scale wholesale prices for summer fuel have slightly decreased since the end of April. Agricultural producers can also take part in the Bashneft long-term loyalty program, with an additional discount on diesel fuel during seasonal field work (from 5 to 7 months, depending on the planned sample of declared volumes).
Sowing of the main agricultural crops is planned to be completed by the end of May, heat-loving crops (corn, buckwheat, millet, soybeans) - in the first ten days of June.
