Summer pastures in the vicinity of the Chirkey reservoir are located at an altitude of 1000 meters above sea level. At the moment, there are 200 heads of Kalmyk heifers. Unlike the plains of Dagestan, there are fewer winds in the mountains and a rich forage base, which creates favorable conditions for transhumance cattle breeding.
At night, heifers are kept in the base. In the morning, the livestock is driven out to pasture. Natural sources - springs are used to water the cattle. From the additional feeding on the pasture, only licks are placed near the base.
Calving takes place on the plain in the winter premises of the farm. Calving begins in mid-February and ends at the end of March.
