The region is continuously modernizing its dairy farming and processing industries, supported by government subsidies.
In 2025, eight dairy plants in the region were selected and will receive 34.7 million rubles to reimburse the costs of previously installed labeling equipment within the "Honest Sign" system.
Automation and digitalization of production align with the goals of the national project "Technological Support for Food Security" and facilitate the production of high-quality products.
For example, the Russian MILK Group has implemented the special "Honest Sign" label at its facilities, allowing consumers to find out when, how, and from what the dairy product was made.
As Deputy Minister of Agriculture Inna Podshivalova noted, the goal of the program is to ensure honesty with consumers, combat counterfeiting, and ensure control and transparency at all stages of production:
"Over the past five years, 31 investment projects in dairy farming have been implemented in the Chelyabinsk Region with the help of regional support." Processors are also constantly updating their product range, introducing new types of cheeses, dairy products, and ice cream. These products are exported both domestically and internationally. In the near future, the regional Ministry of Agriculture will reimburse milk processors for the costs of implementing labeling under the "Honest Sign" product traceability program. The goal of this program is, first and foremost, honesty with consumers. Any customer can scan a QR code and obtain complete product information from farm to store.
The Russian Milk Group (brand "First Taste") operates two production sites in the Chelyabinsk Region. These are the oldest dairy plants in Chelyabinsk and Magnitogorsk. Despite their age, these are modern, powerful enterprises. Production is monitored at all stages and fully complies with the objectives of the "Honest Sign" system.
The Magnitogorsk Dairy Plant receives 300 tons of milk daily from 26 suppliers, ranging from small farms to large enterprises supplying over 50,000 liters of milk per day.
All raw milk first undergoes rigorous testing, as explained by laboratory DIRECTOR Rimma Kolotyeva:
"We have strict laboratory quality control at all stages of the technological process, starting with milk acceptance. First, it is checked for antibiotics: not a drop of milk containing them or other medications is accepted."
The milk then moves to the production facilities, where it is processed into drinking milk and fermented milk products.Cottage cheese , curd cheese bars, butter , and whey drinks.
"The processing cycle takes no more than 24 hours," explains Production Manager Tatyana Laushkina. "We produce over 80 types of finished products. This year, Pervy Vkus launched a new product: bio-yogurt with natural blueberries and strawberries. It's enriched with beneficial bifidobacteria and vitamins A, B, E, and D. Another new product is ice cream and strawberry-flavored milkshakes.
This year, milk processors will receive a total of 34.7 million rubles in subsidies from the federal and regional budgets for the purchase and commissioning of equipment to implement the mandatory Honest Sign label.
