Lipetsk enterprises will receive state support for soil liming and irrigation

Since 2022, a state program has been in place in Russia for the effective involvement of agricultural land in the circulation and the development of the reclamation complex.

Until 2031, it is planned to bring into circulation 13.2 million hectares of unused land and keep reclaimed soils in the agricultural circulation on an area of at least 3.6 million hectares. Also, tasks were set for chemical reclamation on an area of 2.8 million hectares, ensuring a favorable water regime on an area of 1.35 million hectares and collecting information on the current state of agricultural land.

Thus, within the framework of the federal project "Involvement in circulation and comprehensive reclamation of agricultural land", included in the new state program, in 2022 it is planned to produce about 175 thousand hectares of arable land in the country with the involvement of federal budget funds, 227 projects will be supported. Agrarians at the expense of the federal and regional budgets are compensated for 50% of the costs actually incurred by them.

In the Lipetsk region, 19 companies will be able to use state support under the new state program this year. 2 enterprises will implement projects for irrigation of agricultural land, 17 will receive federal money for liming soils. Liming of acidic soils improves their agrochemical and agrophysical properties and increases fertility. In 2022, state-supported liming will cover 16.3 thousand hectares in the region. On 566 hectares, it is additionally planned to grow crops on irrigation. The total area of active reclamation lands in the Lipetsk region is about 17 thousand hectares.

The implementation of the state program will ensure the sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex based on the expansion of the fund of agricultural land, as well as the restoration of the reclamation complex. Ultimately, this will serve to strengthen the food security of the country.
