The sowing campaign in Bashkortostan is in its final stage, despite many fears and difficulties, the farmers coped with the task, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus - Minister of Agriculture Ilshat Fazrakhmanov noted today at the weekly operational meeting of the Government of the region.
The farms of the republic sowed 2 million 66 thousand hectares of spring crops, or more than 95% of the planned areas, an indicator higher than last year by 41 thousand hectares. Of the total, 1 million 357 thousand hectares were sown with grain and leguminous crops. The plan for oilseeds has been practically fulfilled, their area amounted to about 419 thousand hectares, which is 42 thousand hectares more than last year. About 70% (292.6 thousand hectares) of all oilseeds were traditionally occupied by sunflower, which is also 27 thousand hectares higher than last year.
The remaining areas of oilseeds are sown with flax, rapeseed, soybeans, mustard and other oilseeds.
Ilshat Fazrakhmanov also noted that the plan for sowing SUGAR beet was overfulfilled by 161 hectares. In total, 43 thousand 365 hectares were sown with beets in the republic, which is 18.5% more than last
year plan.
In addition, work is underway in the fields to take care of winter, spring grain and sugar beet crops. Ilshat Fazrakhmanov said that the farms have carried out chemical weeding on a total area of ​​​​about 300 thousand hectares and continue to treat winter crops against pests and diseases.
