More than 157 thousand tons of roughage have already been prepared by enterprises of the Lipetsk region

In the farms of the region, the harvesting of grassy fodder for cattle is in full swing.
27.9 thousand hectares of natural and sown grasses have already been cut. 157.6 thousand tons of roughage were harvested, including 129.7 thousand tons of haylage and 27.9 thousand tons of hay. The need for roughage for the winter-stall period is closed by 42%.
In total, 6.2 centners of fodder units were harvested for one conditional HEAD of cattle, with a need of 20.5 centners.
In the second decade of August, Lipetsk farmers will start harvesting silage and fodder root crops. In total, about 375 thousand tons of succulent fodder must be prepared to keep animals in the winter-stall period.
Also in the farms of the region, the remnants of fodder from the 2021 harvest have been preserved.
