Agrarians of Transbaikalia in 2022 plan to put into circulation 42 thousand hectares of fallow lands

Agricultural organizations of Transbaikalia in 2022 intend to put into circulation 42 thousand hectares of unused arable land, said the HEAD of the regional agrarian department Denis Bochkarev.

“The Ministry of Agriculture of RUSSIA held a competition for the selection of land reclamation projects in order to provide state support to the regions for holding cultural and technical events. The list of farms that will be able to receive subsidies next year under the program of effective involvement in the circulation of agricultural land includes five agricultural enterprises from the Trans-Baikal Territory. According to the terms of the competition, these organizations will undertake obligations to put into circulation 42,000 hectares of fallow farmland. The implementation of the plan will allow them to receive compensation from the federal budget in the amount of 50% of the costs incurred. Of the estimated amount of subsidies, the total amount of funds raised may exceed 170 million rubles,” the minister said.

The list of agricultural organizations that intend to carry out cultural and technical work on unclaimed arable land from Transbaikalia includes the following companies: Novoe Beklemishevo, Teros ZK, Zabaikalagro, Mangazeya Agro and the farm of Alexander Rusinov.

it should be noted that at the end of 2021, the economies of the region put into circulation 22 thousand hectares of fallow lands.

“This year, the abundance of precipitation and waterlogging of the soil held back seasonal agricultural work on the preparation of low-productive arable land. Nevertheless, the Trans-Baikal farmers were able to raise 22 thousand hectares of unclaimed agricultural land. Agricultural activity in this direction is one of the priorities for us today, as it gives a good impetus to the development of crop production in the region,” added Denis Bochkarev.

It should be noted that Transbaikalia has a huge potential for fallow lands. The total area of unused arable land in the region exceeds 1 million hectares.
