The United States is imposing restrictions on 49 companies from CHINA , Germany, Finland, India, Turkey and other countries due to support for Russian troops or the Russian military-industrial complex, the Bureau of Industry and Security of the US Department of Commerce reported. The measures will come into force on October 11.

The document released by the bureau said that US authorities have reason to believe that these organizations “have been involved, are in the process of becoming involved, or pose a significant risk of becoming involved” in activities that violate the national security or foreign policy interests of the United States.

“These organizations have been added to the list of companies providing support to Russian military and/or defense-industrial infrastructure. In particular, these organizations supplied American-made integrated circuits to Russian recipients associated with the defense sector after March 1, 2023,” the bureau clarified.

The list included mainly companies working with electronics and technology.

After the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine , the United States strengthened sanctions against Moscow with the goal, as the US Department of Commerce clarified, to deprive the Russian defense industry, aircraft and shipbuilding of important technological elements.

In October 2022, the US Treasury threatened foreign companies that they could be subject to American sanctions if they supplied ammunition and other military goods to RUSSIA or if they supported the Russian military-industrial complex.
