Rosoboronexport called the new sanctions announced on February 1 by the US Treasury a manifestation of unfair competition from the United States. At the same time, the company said that it did not know the people mentioned in the sanctions list.
“The desire of American companies to act contrary to the laws of the market indicates the lack of competitiveness of their own products compared to Russian ones and the unwillingness of the United States to promote their products in a civilized manner. We hope that the countries that support this practice with their tacit consent will eventually understand that this has extremely negative consequences for their economy and defense capabilities, ”the statement of Rosoboronexport received by RBC reads.
The day before, the US Treasury added 12 companies and ten individuals to the sanctions list for RUSSIA. All the companies mentioned in it are registered abroad - in Singapore, Cyprus, Israel, Latvia and Bulgaria. Igor and Jonathan Zimenkov are mentioned in the list of individuals. The US Treasury considered them related to Russian defense projects, including the supply of "a Russian company of high-tech equipment."
