The government extended the ban on the entry of trucks from "unfriendly countries"

The government extended the ban on entry of trucks from "unfriendly countries" into RUSSIA until December 30. This was reported to RIA Novosti by the representative of the First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov.

The ban was introduced on October 10 last year as a response to "unfriendly and contrary to international law actions of some foreign states." He touched the EU countries , Great Britain , Norway and Ukraine. At the same time, the restrictions do not apply to the Kaliningrad region.

In April last year, the EU restricted the cargo transportation of Russian companies on the territory of the association countries. Transport companies interviewed by RBC said that due to the EU ban, a surplus of trucks arose on the domestic Russian market. To rectify the situation, members of the Freight Carriers Association proposed to ban trucks from the EU from traveling to Russia - delivery should take place according to the scheme of reloading goods at the border (as is done in Belarus).
