In RUSSIA, the drug for CORONAVIRUS "Areplivir" for injections was registered. This follows from the data of the state register of medicines.
“Date of registration: 11/12/2021. Entering into civil circulation is allowed for up to five years, ”it follows from the drug card.
As TASS was told in the press service of the developer of the drug, Promomed Group of Companies, the medicine will go to hospitals in all Russian regions by the end of the year.

The tablet form of Areplivir was approved by the Ministry of HEALTH in June 2020. The main active ingredient of the drug is favipiravir. This drug was created in Japan by Fujifilm Holdings Corp., and was originally presented as a drug to help treat influenza. In 2020, researchers began to study its effectiveness in the fight against coronavirus. But in July, Japanese scientists concluded that its effectiveness against covid-19 had not been confirmed. Nevertheless, the Russian Ministry of Health considered that trials of the drug indicate that it can help patients.
