Rospotrebnadzor spoke about the “British” strain of COVID-19 in Bashkiria

The territorial department of Rospotrebnadzor for Bashkiria reported how many people became infected with the "British" strain of CORONAVIRUS. The agency conducts constant monitoring of infectious agents. 72 samples of patients' biological material were sent from Bashkiria for sequencing. According to the results of a molecular genetic study, the “British” strain was found in four patients, Anna Kazak, HEAD of the department, told RBC Ufa.

In all patients, the disease proceeded in the form of acute respiratory viral infections of mild to moderate severity. As of May 31, 2021, all patients have recovered and their medical follow-up has been completed. Doctors took anti-epidemic measures for each identified case of infection. All persons in contact with the patients were examined - laboratory tests showed that they are healthy.

According to the Republican operational headquarters for the fight against coronavirus infection, as of June 1, 91 new cases of the disease were detected per day. The total number of infected people in the republic is 38,292 people. 36,253 people have recovered. Over the past day, 101 patients have been discharged. 278,026 people have been vaccinated against coronavirus.
