The government discussed the introduction of QR codes for informally recovered patients

The authorities are discussing the possibility of issuing QR codes to unofficially recovered people with antibodies to covid. The decision can be made soon, RBC sources say. it would be fair

The authorities are discussing the possibility of issuing QR codes to people with antibodies to the CORONAVIRUS, but who are not officially ill, two sources close to the relevant departments told RBC. The government is currently "working on this" issue, one of RBC's interlocutors clarified. According to him, the decision may be announced in the near future, and it will be "formalized". How and when exactly this will be done, RBC's source refused to say, explaining that the details continue to be discussed.

The World HEALTH Organization does not currently provide estimates of what levels of antibodies are sufficient to be protected from covid-19 . The WHO representative in RUSSIA, Melita Vujnovic, has repeatedly explained that the presence of antibodies in a person will not be an obstacle to vaccination.

If a decision is made to issue QR codes based on the level of antibodies, then not only those who have been ill without an official doctor's diagnosis, but also those who have been vaccinated with foreign vaccines, will be able to apply for such a code, says another RBC source.

According to one of the sources, supporters of a positive “verdict” on issuing QR codes to people with antibodies are also representatives of the Russian elite, since many were revaccinated with Western vaccines, which are not yet recognized in Russia.

In a conversation with RBC, the DIRECTOR of the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after N.F. Gamalei Alexander Gintsburg said that it is fair to issue a QR code to those people who have a sufficient level of antibodies to protect against the virus, and how they got it, as a result of vaccination or having been ill, "is their own business." The line between those who have been ill, of whom there are many, and those who have been vaccinated [in this regard], in principle, should be erased, ”he told RBC.
