Candidates for deputies will have to provide information about the purchased cryptocurrency. The innovation will also affect their spouses and children. Information about this is contained in the bill posted on the website of the regional parliament.

“The bill provides for amendments to the Electoral Code of the Tyumen Region in terms of the need for candidates participating in the elections to provide information about their expenses, as well as about the expenses of their spouse (spouse) and minor children for each transaction for the acquisition of digital financial assets and digital currency, completed during the last three years, if the amount of the transaction exceeds the total income of the candidate and his wife (spouse) for the last three years preceding the transaction,” the document states.

In addition, they will be required to report on the source from which they received the funds for which the cryptocurrency was purchased, reports URA.RU.

The bill was introduced by the electoral commission. It is planned that the parliamentarians will consider it at the next meeting of the Committee on State Building and Local Self-Government.

Previously, this change has already affected civil servants: in 2021 they were required to declare data on financial assets and digital currency.
