The Ambassador of the LPR called Kyiv's plans to increase the army a "contribution of a living commodity"

Plans to increase the Ukrainian army to 1 million people are Kyiv’s contribution as a “living commodity” to a “deal” called “war in Ukraine,” LPR Ambassador to Russia Rodion Miroshnik said in his Telegram channel.

According to him, Ukraine "raises the stakes" in this "deal" after the US , UK and other countries that supply Kiev with weapons.

“Biden intends to give 40 billion dollars, the G7 countries announced 30 billion euros, and here Ukraine is putting up one million human lives. A country that has been killed and destroyed does not count, none of them are going to live there anyway,” Miroshnik wrote.

The head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced the increase in the army to 1 million people Politics

Earlier, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that Ukraine is building up its defense potential, based on 1 million combatants on the side of Kyiv. “Processes have been launched that will ensure the build-up of the defense potential of Ukraine. This applies to both procurement and production of the necessary. We focus on the need to provide for 1 million people,” he said.

Reznikov said that at the moment more than 1.5 thousand Ukrainian military are already studying or in the coming days will begin to master the equipment supplied by foreign partners. Some of them will then act as instructors, while "someone, like gunners, will immediately go into battle," said the head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.

The House of Representatives of the US Congress on May 10 approved a bill to help Kyiv in the amount of $40 billion. The package of measures includes the supply of weapons and humanitarian aid. In the Senate, this initiative was blocked, Senator Rand Paul demanded amendments to the document.

He pointed out that if the bill is passed, the total US assistance to Ukraine since last year will reach $60 billion, which is more than the State Department budget, such an amount could accelerate the rapid growth of inflation. The Pentagon then warned that a delay in approving the aid package could lead to interruptions in arms supplies to Kyiv.

Spiegel, citing sources, previously wrote that the G7 countries plan to provide financial support to Ukraine in the amount of about €30 billion. This amount is calculated based on the fact that hostilities in Ukraine will end within a year, Spiegel notes. Financial assistance will be provided to Kyiv in the form of loans and grants, the Ukrainian side will not have to return the entire amount.

Prior to this, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said on May 13 that the Union would provide Ukraine with additional military assistance in the amount of €500 million.
