Moscow deployed extra beds for children for the first time because of "omicron"

In Moscow, there is an increase in the incidence of coronavirus and the number of hospitalizations among children and adolescents due to the omicron strain COVID-19 , said Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.

“For the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, we needed additional beds for this category of patients,” she said.

In connection with the current situation, from February 1, the bed fund for the treatment of children from coronavirus will be expanded to almost 1.3 thousand, patients will be received by the COVID-building of the hospital named after. G.N. Speransky, Rakova added.

In addition, in the near future, two federal hospitals will start accepting children with coronavirus - the Russian Children's Clinical Hospital and the National Research Center for Children's Health.
