Lavrov said that the EU regulator had no comments on Sputnik V

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has no comments on the Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V. This was stated by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper. Its text is published on the website of the Foreign Ministry.

“According to our information, there are no comments on the vaccine itself and the degree of its effectiveness. We proceed from the fact that the issue is in the plane of a depoliticized and professional dialogue between specialized structures,” Lavrov said.

The head of the Foreign Ministry stressed that Sputnik V is now undergoing a “consecutive examination” at the EMA, and before that, agency employees visited medical institutions in Moscow involved in clinical trials of the Russian vaccine. “EMA employees are in direct working contact with representatives of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia,” Lavrov added.

In April, EMA staff were going to test whether the Russian COVID-19 vaccine causes thrombosis.
