
The COVID-19 pandemic is at a very dangerous stage, despite the progress made in the fight against it. This was stated by the DIRECTOR General of the World HEALTH Organization (WHO) Tedros Ghebreyesus, the briefing was broadcast on the WHO website.
“While we are making progress in controlling the pandemic, it remains in a very dangerous phase,” Ghebreyesus said.
According to him, the only way out of this situation is to support countries "in the fair distribution of personal protective equipment, tests, medicines and vaccines."

According to WHO, since the beginning of the pandemic, almost 183.9 million people have been infected with coronavirus in the world, and 3.9 million people have died from the disease.
Since the end of April, the number of new cases of COVID-19 infection has been gradually decreasing, but since mid-June it has started to rise again. As the situation worsens, in particular the spread of the more contagious Indian strain, Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa urged the EU to prepare for a fourth wave of coronavirus. According to him, it may begin in the country at the end of July.
