Russia will soon pass the peak of the incidence of coronavirus, in the next week or two it will begin to decline, said Sergey Netesov, head of the laboratory of bionanotechnology, microbiology and virology at Novosibirsk State University, in an interview with Izvestia.
According to the scientist, it is not yet possible to say whether the peak of the new wave of the pandemic in the country has passed or not, the picture will become clearer by the end of next week.
“Judging by the dynamics of the incidence in Western Europe, this peak should decline in the next week or two. Because Russia is two to three weeks behind Europe in terms of the dynamics of cases, and we are almost simultaneously in terms of the dynamics of the incidence with Turkey, ”he said. According to Netesov, it is from this country that COVID-19 has been “imported” to Russia in recent weeks .
