The surface test is a research method that allows you to determine the presence of a virus on various objects and surfaces. This test is based on the analysis of fingerprints left by microbes on surfaces.

For surface testing, special agars are used, which contain nutrients for microbes. These agars are imprinted from surfaces that may be infected with the virus, such as doorknobs, computer keyboards, wastebaskets, etc.

After that, the agars are placed in an incubator at a certain temperature and humidity. Within a few days, microbial growth occurs on the agars, if they were on the surface.

Molecular diagnostic methods, such as PCR diagnostics, are also used for more accurate and faster testing on the surface. This method can detect the presence of viral DNA on surfaces.

it is important to note that the surface test is not completely accurate and may produce false positive or false negative results. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct surface testing in combination with other diagnostic methods, for example, testing for the virus in nasopharyngeal swabs.
