February 19, MINSK. On the air of the TV channel, Deputy Minister of Economy Dmitry Yaroshevich told how the Belarusian economy worked at the beginning of the year, BelTA informs.
"Thanks to the systemic work of the government, enterprises manage to achieve good intermediate results. The industry, compared with the whole year, worked at the level of 94.6% according to the results of the year, in January - 95.9%. it is important that this growth is effective, due to high-tech industries with high added value.Electronics grew one and a half times, mechanical engineering, electrical equipment, etc. For example, if we turn to another strategic direction of our economy - agriculture, then the results of January are 103.4%.This is due to MILK - an increase 3.5%, MEAT - more than 5%.We have increased the number of poultry by 4 million heads. In general, the productivity of animal husbandry is growing," said Dmitry Yaroshevich.According to him, the pace of construction has practically been restored. “Of course, it is not yet 100%, but we are approaching. And we hope that just in February, March, we will definitely start to grow in this area,” the Deputy Minister noted. “But there are those industries that do not work so well, for our opinion, for objective reasons.First of all, this is transport, transportation.Due to all the sectoral restrictions imposed on our country, of course, it cannot show the same results as last year, so January sags. Wholesale also sags behind it. As a result, GDP in January is 95%."
Dmitry Yaroshevich specified that January is always the most difficult month for the economy. "It depends on many factors. In particular, on our trading partners - RUSSIA and CHINA . In Russia, this is the Christmas holidays, which last almost half a month, in China - the Chinese New Year, everything is being prepared. Even such a factor seems to be difficult to predict, as weather. For example, the average temperature in January 2022 was minus 2.1 degrees Celsius, and in January this year - minus 0.7 degrees. Accordingly, the energy sector performed worse. But on the other hand, if we turn to efficiency, we spent less resources, we will have a better trade balance, but people have saved on fat bills and heating," he added.
