Belarus recorded the highest growth in agricultural production in the EAEU in January-February

April 8, Moscow . In January-February, Belarus recorded the highest growth in agricultural production among the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. This is evidenced by data from the Department of Statistics of the Eurasian Economic Union, BELTA reports.

“In January-February 2024 , agricultural production in the Eurasian Economic Union in farms of all categories increased by 1.2% compared to the same period in 2023. Growth was observed in all EAEU states (excluding data for Armenia),” stated the EEC.

According to the commission, in Belarus in the first two months of this year, agricultural production growth amounted to 6.9% compared to the same period last year. In Kyrgyzstan the growth was 1.4%, in Kazakhstan - 1.3%, in Russia - 0.2%.  

"The production of livestock and poultry for slaughter in the EAEU increased by 3.2%, Milk - by 4%, egg production decreased by 0.4%. The largest increase in the production of basic livestock products was recorded in Belarus," the EEC added.
