Evgenia Zinchenko took 1st place in the All-Russian competition for the best scientific work among students and young scientists from universities of the Ministry of Agriculture of RUSSIA.

The research of a 4th year student of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Expertise of the Ural Agrarian State University is devoted to the comparative veterinary and sanitary examination of oysters (scientific supervisor - G. Goroshnikova, Ph.D., Associate Professor).

“Oysters are popular in restaurants and are eaten raw, so high quality is very important. We conducted a veterinary and sanitary examination of oysters and compared foreign and domestic mollusks. This topic has been little studied in Russia. We checked the oysters for organoleptic characteristics, for parasitic diseases and microbiological contamination, and also did cytological studies . All oysters met the standards, although some had minor deviations,” said Evgenia Zinchenko, winner of the All-Russian competition of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, 4th year student at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Expertise of the USAU.

The final of the All-Russian competition for the best scientific work in the category “Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise” among young scientists from universities of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia was held at the Ural State Agrarian University on May 16.

27 students from 24 constituent entities of the Russian Federation from Moscow to the Far East competed for the title of winner of the prestigious agricultural competition. Each of the participants passed two qualifying rounds: first in their educational institution, then at the regional stage, and, according to the conclusion of the expert commission, were among the best in their federal district.

Among the participating universities: Ural State Agrarian University, Russian State Agrarian University - Moscow Agricultural Academy named after K.A. Timiryazev, St. Petersburg State University of Veterinary Medicine, Arctic State Agrotechnological University, Stavropol State Agrarian University, Kazan State Academy of Veterinary Medicine, Omsk State Agrarian University, Yaroslavl State Agricultural Academy and others.

The expert commission , which included scientists from Yekaterinburg, Moscow, Stavropol and Kuban, presented reports on the quality and safety of honey, MEAT, cheese, MILK, the influence of food additives on food quality, the role of morphological research in veterinary and sanitary examination and other.

Experts evaluated student work using a point system based on the novelty and originality of the topic, the depth of study of the problem, and the compliance of the work results with modern trends in the development of science.
