The main holiday of the year for Orthodox Christians is approaching: April 24 - Holy Resurrection of Christ. The parish of the church of St. Nicholas of Japan, built in Kamennaya Gorka, the most densely populated and fastest growing microdistrict of MINSK, told how the believers are preparing for Easter.

Need to get ready for Easter

In the morning our editorial car drove up to a small Orthodox church standing on a hillock, the architecture of which showed a barely noticeable influence of the East. A group of young people arrived almost at the same time as us.

The girls started making willow bouquets. The boys rolled up their sleeves, took their sacks and went to collect garbage in the clearing, in the thickets of willows, spread out behind the temple. it was amazing to observe how young people easily and with interest do what would take at least ten reminders from their parents at home. No one pointed out to anyone, no one was urged on - the work went smoothly and quickly.

“We are getting ready for Easter: we are inviting volunteers to put things in order, and by Saturday they helped set up tables for consecrating Easter cakes,” explains one of the five priests of the temple, Priest Evgeny Fisenkin, who introduced us to the courtyard and its shrines.

Temple is always open

The miniature outwardly temple made of ship pine turned out to be huge inside - a real Cosmos, that place in the Universe where the heart is light, and the soul is light. Around - burning candles, praying icons: the Savior, the Virgin Mary, St. Nicholas of Japan, Seraphim of Sarov, Matrena of Moscow.

- The temple is always open, from morning to evening, - Father Eugene clarifies. - Everyone can come here whenever they want. Pray, light a candle. Services are held daily, including the Divine Liturgy. There are two on Sundays - early and late. More young people and those people who have plans to go to the country or to the village come to the early. As a rule, mothers with children visit the late liturgy. On Pascha, the Divine Liturgy is served at night and in the morning.

Man has the ability to resurrect

The Resurrection of Christ is an event that believing Christians consider the main thing in the history of earthlings.

- The Lord showed that a person has the opportunity to resurrect - to return to eternal life. It was created for her, - the priest simply explains. - Adam and Eve, having tasted the forbidden fruit from the tree, did not admit their guilt and became mortal, but the Lord did not leave them or us. He sent his son Jesus Christ, who went through the whole earthly path, until his death, in order to rise again later! Thus opening the way for us to eternal life.

What is the most important thing in the Easter service and Easter itself?

- Divine Liturgy, communion and greeting of believers to each other: Christ is risen! Just don't send anti-Christian spam on the holiday with GIF animations of domes, crosses, stars and "Prayers of great power" with instructions to the addressees: "Forward this prayer to as many people as possible." This discredits the church and scares adequate people away from faith. If you want to congratulate a loved one - write to him what you want to say! - advises Priest Eugene. - Try to do more good deeds. Make peace with loved ones. There is a need - pray in front of the icon, if you want to receive a blessing - contact the priest!

While our guide showed the temple, Sunday school and the church shop, a flock of boys fluttered into a small cafe-bakery "Ladybug". The local kids know where the goodies are.

- Our confectioners and bakers make them without margarine, palm oil - only with MILK, cream and cow butter. Bread - on yeast-free sourdough. Easter cakes were also baked today.

We looked into the bakery: the aroma of baking is wonderful, the look of Easter cakes is festive!

Educate yourself, not your children

Evgeny and Yulia Fisenkins are raising three children - Andrey (8 years old), Varvara (5 years old), Alexander (2 years old). Raise them in love and harmony. Children often see their parents reading books - and learn to live by their example.

- Do not educate children, but educate yourself: all of them, sooner or later, will copy you! - the HEAD of the family quotes the wise man.

In the Fisenkins' post, watching TV is easily replaced by reading. Children draw, listen to fairy tales, and Andrei, who prefers Soviet "Hedgehog in the Fog" and "Mouse Peak" to Hollywood cartoons, recently read Antoine de Saint-Exupery's "The Little Prince" himself. At the end of Lent, parents traditionally turn on a film about the Resurrection of Christ for their children, which is easy to find on YouTube. Similar pictures - about the Nativity of the Savior and Great Lent - this year the children have already watched, and with great interest.
