Sherstnev: farmers of the Vitebsk region will do everything necessary to get the maximum harvest

May 30, MINSK. Agrarians of the Vitebsk region will do everything necessary to get the maximum harvest. Nikolai Sherstnev, chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, stated this on the air of the TV channel, BelTA informs.

This year it was possible only due to the fact that we have strengthened agricultural organizations. The new reliable technique is a completely different productivity, so we managed to sow on time."

According to him, today in the Vitebsk region, in order to increase the production of dairy products, livestock facilities are being reconstructed, re-profiled and re-equipped. "We have chosen two directions for ourselves. The first is the restoration of premises that have already served their time, but they need to be redesigned and used further. The second is the construction of new robotic dairy complexes where you can get the maximum production. On those farms that we are restoring, trying to invest a minimum of costs and get the maximum effect, because the cost of production on it will be lower compared to the construction of new complexes.We have set the task of modernizing the livestock complex in the Vitebsk region over the next five years.Then we will get the result, which comes down primarily to 100% capacity utilization of dairy and MEAT processing. That's when the economy will work. To do this, we have linked meat processing and MILK processing enterprises into a single organism and created raw material zones near them for 100% supply of raw materials to our enterprises,” said the chairman of the regional executive committee.

The HEAD of the region drew attention to the staffing of the agro-industrial complex. "The Vitebsk region has its own specifics: difficult natural conditions, cold winter, late spring, short growing season. All this leaves its mark. Therefore, we need personnel who love the land, who can work in these conditions. I would like to assemble just such a team. Of course, this is not easy and is not done in one month or a year. However, we are fulfilling this mission in many directions," he said.

Nikolai Sherstnev highly appreciated the efficiency of the specialized agrarian classes that operate in the schools of the Vitebsk region. "We show the guys the specifics of the agricultural orientation, talk about our farms, workshops, demonstrate the technology of the future, livestock facilities, robotic complexes. In this way, we involve young people in this area. Through agricultural classes, in my opinion, the fixation in production will be much higher, because young people will come conscious, understanding why they want to work in the agro-industrial complex," he added.
