Minsk . Cooperation in light industry and tourism, holding Days of Belarusian Cinema in Dagestan and the possibility of opening a Belarusian trading house were the focus of talks between Belkoopsoyuz Board Chairwoman Inessa Korotkevich and Dagestan Prime Minister Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, BELTA learned from the Belarusian Republican Union of Consumer Societies. Prime Minister Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov has paid an official visit to Belarus with a delegation of
government and business representatives. The purpose of the visit was to visit domestic industrial enterprises and hold talks with the management of Belkoopsoyuz and the Bellegrom concern.
The Dagestan Prime Minister and Belkoopsoyuz Board Chairwoman Inessa Korotkevich discussed the main issues of expanding trade and economic cooperation. In particular, they discussed opening joint ventures and a Belarusian Trading House in Dagestan.
It was noted that Dagestan is interested in supplies of Belarusian-made products, including clothing made from natural fabrics, furniture and consumer goods, as well as certain types of food products.
Another promising issue is cooperation in the production and processing of wool, the production of products from raw materials offered by Dagestan enterprises.
"Dagestan produces 14.5 thousand tons, which is 25% of Russian wool, which is in demand on the international market today. Our entrepreneurs are already working with Belarusian representatives. Let's discuss the prospects for creating a joint Belarusian-Russian enterprise," the
head of the Dagestan government suggested.
In addition to the announced areas, the parties discussed issues of cooperation in the light and glass industries, in the field of tourism. An agreement was also reached on holding the Days of Belarusian Cinema in Dagestan in
2025.
If we talk about figures, then in
2024 , Belarus's foreign trade turnover with Dagestan increased by 15%. The export of Belarusian goods increased by the same percentage . The most noticeable growth was seen in the
export of the following Belarusian goods: butter - twofold,
milk and dry condensed cream - fivefold, ceramic tableware - 2.5 times.
"Russia and
Belarus are traditionally close partners, and the level of their relations is strategic. A large delegation of our entrepreneurs arrived in Belarus, who worked out issues of interaction in industry areas with the management of Belarusian enterprises for promising cooperation in the production of yarn, footwear, wool. We are ready to consider the issue of opening a Belarusian Trading House in Dagestan," the Prime Minister noted.
"Belarus and Dagestan are spiritually close republics. Domestic enterprises and Belkoopsoyuz are ready to strengthen and expand international and foreign economic ties, increase mutual trade turnover and implement promising projects in key areas," Inessa Korotkevich said.
During their stay in Belarus, the Dagestan delegation visited Polesie OJSC, Kamvol OJSC, the Bobruisk Tannery and other enterprises. Following the talks, an action plan for 2025-2028 was signed to implement the agreement between the governments of Belarus and Dagestan on bilateral cooperation in the trade, economic, scientific, technical and socio-cultural spheres.
Earlier, it was reported that Dagestan and the Bellegprom concern agreed on wool processing and the launch of joint projects. A working group will be created with the participation of Belarusian manufacturers, representatives of the Dagestan wool cluster and government agencies.
