31 October, Mozyr District. A new milking and dairy block and two cowsheds for more than 600 heads were opened on 31 October at the dairy complex of the Slobodskoye Lenin State Unitary Enterprise in Mozyr District, BelTA has learned.

The renovated facility is one of the projects in the Gomel region, implemented in accordance with the Decree of the President of Belarus No. 442 of December 28, 2022 "On the construction (reconstruction) of dairy complexes".

At the opening, Deputy Prime Minister Leonid Zayats emphasized that more than 170 similar facilities are being built in the country. "In general, the program is designed to last until the end of 2025 - so that all farms are transformed into dairy complexes, where manual labor is reduced to zero, where high-quality products are obtained, where labor productivity increases," Leonid Zayats noted.

In addition, poultry farms are being built in the country, and new pig-breeding complexes are being constructed. "By the end of 2030, we need to build 14 pig-breeding complexes to fully provide ourselves with domestically produced pork," said the Deputy Prime Minister.

Leonid Zayats added that today's opening in the Mozyr district is taking place on the eve of the October Revolution Day. "On the eve of the holiday, facilities of various directions are opening all over the country - industrial, social, cultural, sports. And the President sets the task of making our country, our cities and villages even more beautiful, creating conditions so that each person can self-actualize, open up. And this is supported by the population. I think that together we will create something that we and our children will be proud of , we will create for the benefit of our land and our people," he concluded.

According to the Chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee Ivan Krupko, the region is at the stage of major modernization in the sphere of animal husbandry. By the end of 2025, the region should reach the production of 1.2 million tons of MILK and 225 thousand tons of MEAT per year, he specified. "To achieve this, the task is to build 44 new farms by 2030 and modernize 40," the governor noted.

"The President pays special attention to agriculture. Throughout the history of sovereign Belarus, a lot has been done in the industry. We have come to modern technologies that we learn from - from RUSSIA, Kazakhstan, and other countries. The conditions in which we work today, which have been created for people, are the most advanced in the world," emphasized the President's aide - inspector for the Gomel region Yuri Gorlov. Speaking about the updated dairy complex, he noted that the facility is made using the latest technology.

The facility is designed for 640 heads of dairy cattle. The conditions for keeping animals are as comfortable as possible: a milking and dairy block, two barns for dairy cattle with loose housing, two sheds for a calf sanatorium, hard-surfaced areas for walking animals, haylage and silage trenches.

The DIRECTOR of the agricultural enterprise, Yuri Bozhenkov, assured that the new barns will be filled with their own heifers within six months. "We have enough heifers. We have been selling them for 12 years, so we will fill one barn before the new year, and the entire complex in January, February, and March," the director shared his plans. He also specified that before the renovation, there were 247 cows on this farm. Taking into account the new barns and young animals, the herd will increase to almost 1.3 thousand.

The new facility also provides comfortable conditions for workers. By the way, with the expansion of the infrastructure, new jobs will be added to the complex. "Six machine milking operators, two livestock breeders and two mechanics," the director listed .

"Our farm is a united one, previously there were four farms. We are gradually closing the old farms. This is the last one (where the renovation took place. - BELTA note). And all our four complexes are equipped with Gomelagrokomplekt equipment and meet all the requirements," concluded Yuri Bozhenkov.
