29 October, MINSK . During his report on the efficiency of the agro-industrial complex, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko voiced the main task and promise to the Belarusian people in the pre-election period. it sounds as follows: "We will have to jump higher!", a BELTA correspondent reports.
"Going to the people today with an exam (they will take our five-year exam), we must say what we will do. Specifically. That is all politics. And we all know how to speak beautifully. We probably have about five dozen (people. - BELTA note) who can present something beautifully, say something. A politician, a future President, must be able to do this. But the main thing is specifics: what you will do," the Belarusian leader emphasized.

Speaking about the development of the agro-industrial complex, Alexander Lukashenko drew attention to the fact that a lot has already been done in the country, they have experience, but it is important to decide how to proceed. "We need to help the farmers. You know, there are fewer and fewer people (in the countryside. - BelTA note). Vladimir Yevgenyevich (Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev. - BelTA note) is sucking everything he can out of the village and into Minsk. Already 2 million people. Further and further. Well, there needs to be a return for the village, because people need to be fed. These 2 million in Minsk - they all want to eat every day. From small children to adults. We have learned to do this. We do it very well," the Belarusian leader noted.
He drew attention to the fact that the quality of domestic food products is valued abroad, and even heads of state sometimes ask him to send something to try.

"That's why we've learned to do this. But for now, we've reached some kind of horizontal line and can't jump higher. But we'll have to jump. And this is our main task and promise to the Belarusian people during this pre-election period," the HEAD of state said.

On the reasons for inviting the heads of Minsk and the region

to the report Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Shuleiko,Minister of Agriculture and Food Anatoly Linevich, Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev and Chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Turchin.

"As we agreed earlier, we will choose a convenient time in terms of the situation, as they say now, "on the ground". In terms of the situation in the field and preparation for the winter-stall period," the head of state noted.

And if the presence of the relevant vice-premier and minister at the event was understandable - to report on the situation in the agro-industrial complex, then Alexander Lukashenko spoke separately about the reasons for inviting the head of the Minsk Region and Minsk to the conversation: "I invited the governor here so that you could objectively report. He will say where you have improved. Where - not. And whether everything is as good as you report, or really bad. I invited Vladimir Evgenievich (Kukharev. - BELTA note) so that we could publicly say how we will help agriculture next year."
On the capital's assistance to the regions

Here the President recalled that some time ago Minsk provided significant assistance to the Minsk region in the construction of modern dairy complexes. The logic of such a decision was connected with the need to help those whose products are consumed by the residents of the capital. But this rightly raised questions from other heads of regions, from which products also regularly reach the shelves of the capital in considerable quantities.

"You remember that Shuleiko, when he was governor (before his appointment as Deputy Prime Minister, Yuri Shuleiko headed the Brest region. - Note by BELTA), was terribly indignant that we helped the Minsk region. And quite rightly then, as governor, he asked the question: "Why didn't Vladimir Evgenievich help me build at least one livestock complex ?" Because Brest supplies MILK to Minsk, as do all the regions," Alexander Lukashenko noted.

"And then, joke or no joke, if we don't help them, they won't vote for us. They'll fail the elections. That's why we need to promise them at least one complex that we'll build it. Even if you don't find all the money for it in Minsk, I'll lend a shoulder to cry on," Alexander Lukashenko addressed Vladimir Kukharev.
On his advice to the candidates in the elections,
the President emphasized that he was speaking about this quite seriously. "The situation in the country today is such that just telling and talking... Not to mention the governors, the people won't accept it. People need to get it and put it down. That's right. That's why, going into the presidential campaign (I represent you, the government), we must tell the people," Alexander Lukashenko noted.

According to him, the situation has changed in general, and it is also important what this or that candidate will have behind them: "If someone with old baggage tries to come out to the elections here, they have to be very careful. Maybe I shouldn't say this. But, nevertheless, everyone who wants to today, and there are already quite a few of them, are people who grew up with us, not even with me. So here's some advice for them - what will you do and how deeply do you understand these problems."

On specifics in promises to people

Speaking about specifics in promises to people, Alexander Lukashenko gave a number of specific examples.

One of them concerns the construction and operation of roads. "If roads - where and how. I have already voiced it. From district centers to agro-towns. We have done a lot. There is very little work left (- BELTA note). But, in passing, before agro-towns, we must involve large villages, which were once the centers of farms. Do not forget about them. Because yes, people will mainly live in agro-towns, but in these large villages, and in small ones, there is a huge number of our people. And especially the elderly, whom we cannot leave on anyone's shoulders. We need to take care of them," the President said.

If we are talking about the quality of food products, then work on this issue begins with the farm, the dairy complex. "We have already done a lot. We know how, what to do, the technologies. And we have built quite a few of these complexes. We must tell people directly that in the next five years we will solve the issue of dairy complexes. The dairy herd, the cow must stand in this palace. In order to get clean milk . In the end, the cow deserves it," Alexander Lukashenko emphasized.

He noted that in this regard, in the Minsk region, in order to finally solve this issue, it will take just a couple more years. "Somewhere we need to pull up the Vitebsk, Mogilev, and partly the Gomel regions. I do not think that there are such big problems there to build these complexes. The most important thing is that we know what they should be like and what is needed there. Moreover, this is an import-substituting product. We do not need anything imported here. We can build everything ourselves," the President said.
On the work of new personnel in agriculture
Taking into account the above, the head of state is encouraging those responsible for the agro-industrial complex to take more active and decisive actions: "As for agriculture, well, we haven't rushed to hire new personnel. And the vice-premier is new, and the vaunted new minister. But for now... It hasn't gotten any worse, but it hasn't gotten any better either. Maybe, except for the Minsk region. God took pity on it and helped in many ways. And Vladimir Yevgenyevich helped (with the construction of the complexes. - BELTA note)."
