March 3, Brest. The working conditions of milkmaids are incomparable to what they used to be, and in general their work is valued in the countryside. This opinion was expressed to journalists at a solemn event on the eve of Women's Day by the machine milking operator of the Ostromechevo OJSC in the Brest region Svetlana Tur, BelTA has learned.

“Now our work is highly valued and well paid. We receive a decent salary. In the countryside, this is a prestigious profession, although not an easy one,” said Svetlana Tur. The farm where she works is recognized as the best in terms of milk yield not only in the farm, but in the entire Brest region - 10.3 thousand kg of milk is obtained from one cow here.

The whole family of the livestock breeder is also connected with agriculture. The husband works at Ostromechevo OJSC as a machine operator. The eldest son is a teacher, but during the summer school holidays he works part-time as a combine harvester. The middle son works as a driver on the farm, his wife works as a veterinarian on the farm. “We are rural workers and we are proud of it, we work for the benefit of our economy and country,” said Svetlana Tur.

The regional agro-industrial union organized today a solemn event for the best workers of the agro-industrial complex in the puppet theater. Farmers and livestock breeders, agronomists and economists, veterinarians and livestock specialists, heads of agricultural enterprises - today these beautiful, smart and happy women are no different from their city friends. “Of course, it’s nice to do makeup on a holiday, put on a beautiful dress. But we wear overalls more. For example, they often don’t recognize me even among workers, because I’m no different from them. attitude to one's work," said Lyudmila Skrebets, chief veterinarian of the Fedorsky SEC in the Stolinsky district.

In addition to gifts, the program includes excursions around Brest and the Brest region for the participants of the solemn event. And on March 8, the regional trade union of the agro-industrial complex organizes a trip for a delegation of 50 rural workers to the Belarusian capital for a concert by Irina Dorofeeva.
