Belarus expects to increase MILK production to 9.2 million tons in 2025. Natalia Sonic,
HEAD of the main department for the intensification of livestock farming and fisheries activities of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, told reporters on the sidelines of the international forum “Belarus is Agrarian. Dairy Farm,” BELTA correspondent reports.
“For
2024 , we set the target for gross milk production at 8.68 million tons. And for 2025, we are obliged to fulfill the target of 9.2 million tons. As for milk yield from a cow, this year we expect a figure of more than 6 thousand kg,” - said Natalia Sonic.
According to her, there are plans to increase the productivity of the milking herd, improve breeding work, feeding, and work on reproduction. “We have already developed action plans in connection with the Year of Quality. We set the task of increasing the production of extra-grade milk, increasing marketability (sales to dairies). According to operational information, the marketability of milk in some regions is more than 92%, and there are farms where
it reaches 95 -96%. We are also increasing the average delivery weight
of cattle when sold to
MEAT processing plants,” noted a representative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
Belarus sells livestock products, in particular dairy products, to more than 100 countries. “The main market is
RUSSIA . We also supply to African countries, Cuba, and other markets. Every year our assortment increases,” added Natalia Sonic.
