In the Kurgan region, the number of livestock decreased by almost 10 thousand heads - Sverdlovskstat

In the Kurgan region, the number of livestock has decreased by almost 10 thousand heads. Also in the livestock sector of the regional economy, a reduction in production of up to 5% was recorded. This was reported by Sverdlovskstat based on the results of a study of sectoral indicators of the Trans-Urals for 2021.

By December 2021, there were 116.3 thousand heads of cattle in farms of all categories in the Kurgan region, including 49 thousand cows. Compared to the same period in 2020, the indicators decreased by 4.2 thousand heads or by 3.5%, including the number of cows decreased by 1.7 thousand or by 3.3%.

In December 2020, there were 69.5 thousand pigs in all farms of the region, by the end of 2021 there were 65.8 thousand of them, which is 5.3% less. The content of sheep and goats decreased by 1.8% - from 108.7 thousand in December 2020 to 106.7 thousand in December 2021.

According to Sverdlovskstat, for the year, farms of all categories reduced poultry keeping by 0.5%. In December 2020, the agro-industrial complex of the region totaled 1173.5 thousand heads, by the end of 2021 the figure was 1167.1 thousand. it should be noted that in the fall, bird flu quarantine was introduced in several districts of the Kurgan region at once.

In addition, the statistical office recorded a reduction in the production of livestock products in the Trans-Urals. Compared to 2020, by the end of 2021, farms of all categories reduced the volume of livestock harvesting for slaughter in live weight by 5%. MILK farmers in the Kurgan region prepared 3.8% less than in the previous year. And the production of eggs decreased by exactly 3%.
