“Peasant farming received state support in the amount of 25.7 million rubles. In total , more than 100 million rubles of subsidies have been allocated for the development of family farms in the Moscow region this year ,” said Georgy Filimonov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Moscow Region, who is in charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
With the allocated funds, the farm plans to expand the farm: to increase the number of livestock several times, to purchase agricultural equipment, and also to increase the volume of MILK processing up to 5 tons per day.
The farm breeds Saanen goats. The breed got its name from the place of creation - the Saanen Valley in Switzerland, where selective breeding of white dairy goats has been carried out for several hundred years.
Animals of this breed are distinguished by high milk yields: one goat can produce over 1 ton of milk per year (up to 5 liters per day at the peak of lactation), their milk is high in fat content - up to 4% and has no specific smell. Saanen goats are considered friendly and docile, they are bred for polled, but horned goats are also used due to less problems with infertility. This highly productive dairy breed, adapted to cool climates, is also well suited for intensive housing with a parlor system.
In 2022, the farm produced 70 tons of milk. The farm supplies its products both to large organizations specializing in milk processing and to peasant farms in the region.
In recent years, several large goat-breeding farms have been opened in the Sergiev Posad District with association in a consumer cooperative, where animal owners exchange experience among themselves and with foreign colleagues in goat breeding during seminars.
