Meat production increased by 39% in Kuzbass

The interim results of work in the field of agriculture in the region for the first three months of 2022 have been summed up. According to Kemerovostat, farms of all categories produced 35.9 thousand tons of meat, which is 39% more than in the first quarter of last year. In addition, 304.5 million eggs were received, which is 105.2% compared to the same period last year. Gross milk production amounted to 58.1 thousand tons (95%).

“The development of agriculture is of key importance for ensuring the food security of Kuzbass. About 100 large agricultural organizations, more than a thousand peasant farms and about 400 processing industry enterprises operate in our region. The main task we have set is to increase production volumes. It is very important for us that Kuzbass residents are fully provided with products of their own production,” Governor Sergei Tsivilev emphasized.

To fulfill the tasks set, enterprises are modernizing and optimizing production. An increase in the production of livestock and poultry for slaughter occurred at LLC SPK Chistogorsky (JSC Sibagro) in the Novokuznetsk district due to the reconstruction of premises carried out in 2020 and a change in the technology of keeping animals. The enterprise increased the number of one-time pig keeping by 90 thousand heads. As a result, the production of pigs for slaughter in live weight increased by more than 10 thousand tons. In 2021, the company completed the construction of a slaughterhouse and processing of pigs with a capacity of 1.2 thousand heads per shift.

In 2021, the third yard for 200 livestock places was reconstructed at the breeding plant of the Beregovoy SPK of the Kemerovo Municipal District, the water supply system was replaced, the length of the stall space was increased, and the milk collection point was reconstructed. And in the pedigree reproducer of LLC "Temp" of the Promyshlennovsky municipal district, the construction of the fourth yard for keeping young animals older than a year and the maternity ward has been completed. Additional equipment was installed in the maternity ward and the calf barn.

In 2021, Yashkinskaya Poultry Farm LLC reconstructed a building with a capacity of 60 thousand heads, which made it possible to increase the number of laying hens. In 2021, three fattening buildings and two buildings for rearing young animals were reconstructed at Trudarmeiskaya Poultry Farm LLC in the Prokopyevskiy Municipal District.

In addition, non-core animal industries are also developing in the region: for example, the number of sheep and goats in farms of all categories as of April 1 amounted to 71.4 thousand heads. The largest sheep and goat farms are located in the Promyshlenny and Guryev municipal districts. Lamb meat is sold at fairs and is in great demand among the population of the region.

The number of horses in all categories of farms amounted to 7.9 thousand heads. Trotting riding horse breeding is represented in Krapivinsky, Leninsk-Kuznetsky, Topkinsky municipal districts, heavy-drawn horse breeding - in Topkinsky district. In the Kemerovo municipal district they are engaged in industrial breeding of rabbits, the livestock is 5.9 thousand heads.
