The UAV carried out inventory in a low-temperature warehouse at -20°C without human intervention. The robot navigated in space using a navigation system developed by employees of the NTR Tomsk company. The MEAT processing plant continued to operate as normal: there was no need to stop production.

Alexey Kochetkov , DIRECTOR of autonomous navigation systems at NTR Tomsk LLC, explained that their unmanned aerial vehicle is universal and can be used in a wide temperature range of the environment. The inventory data it collects is processed in real time using artificial intelligence algorithms and transferred to the inventory accounting system. In this case, the warehouse does not have to be retrofitted or re-equipped.

The drone builds a map of the room once, and then easily follows the desired route, simultaneously reading RFID tags inside product packages. Satellite navigation, usually unavailable in closed warehouses, is not needed.

A drone with a navigation system from a resident of the Tomsk Special Economic Zone (SEZ) speeds up the inventory process and eliminates errors associated with the human factor. Work on a digital solution for the automation of warehouse complexes lasted more than eight years.
