AUCHAN names popular types of meat products of its own production

Deliveries from the Tambov plant Auchan provide the majority of the entire MEAT assortment in the stores of the retail chain - products from pork, beef, veal and lamb.

Traditionally, pork products are the leaders in sales. The undoubted favorite of the public is the escalope of the AUCHAN Krasnaya Ptitsa private label in gas-modified packaging. Since the beginning of the year, Russian consumers have bought 55 tons of this product, 80% more than in the first half of 2022. it is followed in the ranking by farm neck, tenderloin and pork goulash under the same trademark.

Among beef products, the highest demand this year is for beef steak in gas-modified packaging: 31 tons were sold in January–June (+9%). No less popular is beef tenderloin in vacuum packaging "AUCHAN Red Bird". Among steaks produced in the Tambov Region, the most popular is ribsteak made from premium beef with rosemary in the shape of a heart.

In the veal products segment, customers most often choose Auchan Red Bird beef stroganoff.

In July, the Auchan plant released unusual new products — book-shaped shashlik and colored sausages under its own brand. The first unique selling proposition is intended for families and large groups of friends going on picnics. People who prefer different types of meat will not have to argue about what to buy: the book-shaped trays have two sections — for pork shashlik and for beef and pork fillet shashlik — with different marinades (classic barbecue and mayonnaise sauce with herbs).

Coloured sausages are an assortment of semi-finished products for barbecue with different flavours in one package with spinach and aromatic herbs, spicy with a mix of peppers, pork with turmeric and traditional spices.

Irina Rodionova, DIRECTOR of the Fresh Products, Production Department of AUCHAN Retail RUSSIA, noted that the retailer provides all stores in the chain with high-quality meat of its own production from raw materials from Russian suppliers, and this is a very important task. 

The department coordinates the activities of about 20 suppliers of fresh meat from Voronezh, Lipetsk, Moscow, Tula, Kursk, Oryol, Ryazan, Saratov and other regions of central and southern Russia. This year, the volume of meat products shipped to the consumer market increased by 6.5% compared to 2022. Employees monitor trends and update the assortment twice a year.

The meat processing plant of the Auchan company opened in 2017 in the village of Streltsy in the Tambov region. Now it produces more than 350 types of products from beef, veal, pork and lamb under the private labels "AUCHAN Red Bird" and "Every Day".
