Japanese company terminated cooperation with Rostselmash

The Japanese company Okubo Gear has stopped deliveries of gearboxes for engines to the Rostselmash plant due to sanctions. The co-owner of the Rostselmash group, Konstantin Babkin, spoke about this on the air of the Roy TV program, Gorod N reports.

"Japanese partners supplied about a hundred components. Now we need to find a replacement for them in RUSSIA, CHINA or other countries," Babkin said.

Babkin also noted that in the near future, due to sanctions risks, Rostselmash may have problems with the supply of tires, engines, glasses, and fuel equipment. it is planned that by October the company will be able to replace imported components, and until that time the company can work "intermittently".

Recall that in 2018 Okubo Gear and Rostselmash agreed to localize the production of Japanese transmissions in Rostov. Before the launch of the joint project, gearboxes were bought in Japan, then they were released under license.
