The Investigative Department of the Criminal Investigation Department for the Minsk Region established the circumstances of the murder of a pensioner in the Volozhin region. The crime was committed by the elderly man's neighbor , who, when it was all over, hid the body in his yard. The details of the brutal murder were shared with BELTA by the Information and Public Relations Department of the Investigative Committee.

According to investigators, late in the evening of September 25 last year, a 74-year-old resident of Ivenets came to visit his 42-year-old neighbor, with whom he regularly drank. Having consumed a fair amount of ALCOHOL, the youngest of his drinking companions attacked the pensioner with his fists and beat him until he stopped showing signs of life. The man took his neighbor's body into the yard and hid it under a pile of construction debris.

Another local resident reported the disappearance of the pensioner to the police on the morning of September 26, when he discovered that the elderly man had not returned home. Investigators and police officers managed to quickly solve a particularly serious crime and detain a 42-year-old resident of Ivenets.

During the initial investigative actions, the killer admitted to committing the crime and even spoke in detail about its circumstances. But after a few days, realizing that his actions would be classified as murder, the criminal began to deny his involvement. Experienced investigators of the investigative department of the USC for the Minsk region collected irrefutable evidence of the defendant’s guilt, which allowed him to be charged under paragraphs 2, 6, part 2 of Art. 139 (murder of an obviously elderly person, committed with particular cruelty) of the Criminal Code.

When studying the personality of a 42-year-old man, it was established that he had previously had problems with the law, did not work anywhere and abused alcohol. The killer is divorced and has three dependent young children.
