In Shchuchin, a man abused the state flag

April 11, Grodno. The Shchuchinsky regional department of the Investigative Committee is investigating a criminal case on the fact of desecration of the state flag. This was reported by BelTA to the USC for the Grodno region.

"According to the investigation, a 20-year-old man in a state of alcoholic intoxication , while on Ostrovskogo Street in the district center, in the presence of his friends, tore off the state flag from the bracket on the post office building. During interrogation, the accused said that he and his friends stopped near the post office to smoke. At some point they saw a video surveillance camera, which they waved at. Deciding to "fool around", the guy tore off the state flag and went for a walk along the streets of Shchuchin to attract the attention of his friends and passers-by. He also indicated that the consequences of his I didn’t think about the act, because I was drunk," the ministry said.

When studying the identity of the accused, it was established that he does not work anywhere, lives with his parents and abuses ALCOHOL. The man had previously been convicted of robbery and was repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility, including for drinking alcohol in public places.

The young man's actions are qualified under Article 370 (desecration of state symbols) of the Criminal Code. A measure of restraint in the form of detention was applied to him.
