The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection issued a reminder of key safety measures during the national cleanup day.

News Topics, October 25, MINSK . The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection told BELTA how to ensure safety
during the national cleanup day. Today, the national cleanup day will bring together hundreds of thousands of Belarusians. The ministry reminded everyone of the basic safety measures to take during the cleanup day.

If employees are at their workplaces during the cleanup day, healthy and safe working conditions must be ensured as usual. If employees are required to perform work unrelated to their direct responsibilities during the cleanup day, they must undergo targeted safety training. Participants in the cleanup day must be equipped with properly functioning equipment and personal protective equipment that directly ensures safety (the simplest option isGloves ).

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection emphasized that high-visibility vests are required in areas where vehicle traffic is possible. Hard hats are required if people are working on a construction site. Individuals without appropriate qualifications should not be allowed to perform high-risk work.

When conducting a national cleanup outside the workplace, it is essential to first conduct targeted safety training for the individuals involved, specifically for the type of work being performed, and to survey their HEALTH status.

"It is important to ensure that women participating in the cleanup comply with the standards for manually lifting and moving heavy objects—no more than 7 kg. Measures must be taken to prevent workers from being struck by machinery or injured by moving parts when performing work involving tractors, excavators, and other machinery," the ministry emphasized.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection emphasized that it is prohibited to allow individuals to work while intoxicated or taking drugs, or if they are unwell due to a cold or illness. Furthermore, workers without appropriate training should not be allowed to perform high-risk work. "It is prohibited to allow people who are not provided with personal protective equipment to perform work," the Ministry of Labor noted.
