July 2, Minsk . The Council of Ministers and the National Bank have improved the requirements for the operation of cash register equipment. This is envisaged by their joint resolution of July 2, 2025, No. 367/19, BELTA learned from the Ministry of Taxes and Duties.

As of July 1, 2025, the need to read information contained in unified control marks, which are currently used to mark most goods, including those in everyday use ( vegetable oil ,coffee , tea, soft drinks and others), as well as to keep differentiated records in relation to goods marked with unified control marks. The need to transfer information on the sale of such goods to the cash register equipment control system (CES) is also eliminated.

This decision was made taking into account the measures being implemented to develop the marking system, the functionality of the cash register equipment, and the gradual transition from marking goods with unified control marks to marking with identification means.

For goods subject to marking with identification means (dairy products , footwear, tires and certain light industry goods - outerwear, table linen, bed linen and kitchen linen), the obligation to scan the identification means and transfer information to the CES remains. Since most models of new cash register equipment support the function of extracting the GTIN barcode from the identification means, when selling such goods it will be sufficient to read only the identification means, which will simplify the process of trade servicing of customers, including at self-service checkouts.

The practical implementation of these solutions will be ensured in full after the completion of the necessary technical measures, the Ministry of Taxes and Duties noted.

The resolution comes into force after its official publication and extends its effect to relations that arose from July 1, 2025.
