August 19, Moscow. The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission has made some changes to the procedure for importing tobacco and ALCOHOL into the Eurasian Economic Union for personal use. This was announced at a briefing following the meeting by EEC official representative Iya Malkina, BelTA has learned.

"The EEC Council has clarified the wording on goods imported into the Union for personal use. In particular, the concept of "alcoholic beverages" has been adjusted. Now the wording "alcoholic beverages with an alcohol concentration of more than 0.5%" will be used. Quantitative restrictions have also been introduced on the import of products with heated tobacco: individuals will be able to import up to 200 "sticks", - explained Iya Malkina.

In addition, the wording has been clarified regarding property imported with exemption from payment of payments, which is inherited by several persons, as well as property that belongs to a person who has resettled for permanent residence or received the status of a refugee, forced migrant.

This decision shall enter into force 30 calendar days from the date of its official publication.
