20 February, Grodno. A fellow traveler on a train stole $1,900 from a resident of Shchuchin District, BelTA learned from the Grodno Regional Executive Committee Internal Affairs Directorate.
According to the police, at the end of January, a 71-year-old resident of Shchuchin District was returning home by train. There he met a 63-year-old man, whom he had crossed paths with several times before. Together they used
ALCOHOL . During the conversation, the 71-year-old man boasted that he had a large sum of money in his wallet - $1.9 thousand. Upon arrival at the railway station in the village of Rozhanka,
the men went outside. There, the 63-year-old man openly stole his new acquaintance's wallet and disappeared.
The victim reported the incident to law enforcement officers, who detained the suspect. He managed to spend all the stolen
money on personal needs. The Shchuchin District Department of the Investigative Committee classified the defendant's actions under the article "robbery". The penalty provides for a punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to four years.
