March 16, Minsk. The central (Minsk) regional department of the Investigative Committee completed the investigation of a criminal case on the theft, deliberate destruction of property and a passport. BelTA was informed about this by Ekaterina Garlinskaya, official representative of USC in Minsk.
"During the preliminary investigation, it was established that on November 9, 2021, a 32-year-old Minsker came to visit his friend, who rented a room in one of the capital's apartments. They drank ALCOHOL with a friend and the owner of the apartment, and at night, being in a state of strong alcohol intoxicated , went to bed, - they said in the USC. - Waking up the next morning, the Minsker did not wake up his girlfriend and went to drink coffee with a new acquaintance. Soon the owner of the apartment went to work. "
Entering the room, the man decided to wake the girl, but after several attempts he realized that she was dead. The man had the intent to take valuables, and then set fire to the dwelling, thereby hiding the traces of the crime.
Having stolen various property, including a TV set, a game console with joysticks, a wedding ring and a bicycle, the Minsker set fire to the woman's passport, after which he threw other things at him. The result was a fire in the apartment.
By the evening of the same day, the man realized everything that had happened. Fearing responsibility, he decided to hide on the technical floor of his entrance, but the defendant was detained there by the police.
According to the conclusion of the forensic medical examination, a 33-year-old woman died as a result of acute poisoning with ethyl alcohol.
The amount of damage caused by the fire was more than Br1 thousand, and the value of the stolen goods was more than Br2.4 thousand.
The man was previously convicted of theft and causing grievous bodily harm, had a secondary specialized education and worked at one of the capital's enterprises as a metal smelter.
Upon completion of the investigation, the Minsker was charged under part 2 of article 205 (theft), part 2 of article 218 (destruction and damage to property committed in a generally dangerous way) and article 378 (destruction of someone else's passport) of the Criminal Code. A measure of restraint in the form of detention was applied to him.
