March 1, Moscow. The Eurasian Economic Union will take steps to ratify the agreement on the use of navigation seals to track shipments as soon as possible, BelTA learned from the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
"Measures will be taken in the Eurasian Economic Union to facilitate the early ratification of the agreement on the use of navigation seals in the Union to track transportation, as well as the organization of further work of the Union countries and the EEC on the implementation of the agreement," the press service said. "This will make it possible already this year to ensure the implementation of the measures necessary for the implementation of the agreement. This instruction was given by the heads of government of the EAEU countries at a meeting of the intergovernmental council, which was held on February 24-25 in Nur-Sultan, taking into account the interest of the member states in the soonest launch of the goods tracking mechanism provided for by the agreement."
"As part of this instruction, the countries will determine, at the level of national legislation, organizations that will act as national traffic tracking operators. The Commission, together with the states of the Union, will need to develop 28 acts necessary to ensure the functioning of the traffic tracking mechanism," the EEC noted.
The Agreement on Navigational Seals provides for the tracking by means of electronic navigational seals of goods transported both within the framework of customs transit and a number of goods in mutual trade (sanctioned goods, alcohol , tobacco). The application of this agreement will allow minimizing control measures at the internal borders of the union and increasing the transit attractiveness of the EAEU member states, ensuring the traceability of goods and their legal circulation on the territory of the union.
